I was browsing the CAT website and looking at the new models and specs, and came across some sort of abbreviations at the end of the dozer models; and I’m just curious what they stand for what the difference in each model. What does the “ A ”, “ S ”, “ SU ” & “ VPAT ” stand for in these different models? LGP A LGP S LGP VPAT XL A XL SU XL VPAT XW A XW SU XW VPAT
These are all abbreviations of the bulldozer blade type.
A - Angling S - Straight SU - Semi-universal VPAT - Variable Power Angle Tilt
You must be looking at D6 machines, VPAT actually means variable pitch power angle and tilt, they also come with PAT blades . Good luck Bob
