Hello everyone, I ran down some expensive information today that I thought I would share. We run quite a few Cat dozers with winches, D6R's and D8R's most with Allied self-contained winches (the D6R's have W6F models). When a pump has gone out in the past we have robbed parts from winch housings we have laying around our yard. Those pumps were made by Cessna Hydraulics, and going through Cat the ones we use are a little over $1300.00. I was searching for Cessna pumps a couple of weeks ago, and came across a tidbit that Eaton had bought out Cessna, and pulling on that thread finally brought be to the following catalogue of standard pumps: http://hydraulics.eaton.com/products/pdfs/E-PUGE-MC001-E1.pdf The Cessna Hydraulic 24*** series pumps are labeled as Eaton 26 series. For example, the Cessna 24308 RBS is the same as an Eaton 26012 RAZ (I think, it may be RZA.) Contact your local dealer and tell them the series, the port locations and size (i.e., Suction = #12 on rear, Outlet = # 10 on side, keyed shaft with 1/2" NF threads) and you should be able to save $$$$'s. Our quote was for less than $300.00 for our required Allied winch pump.
Thanks dblaneyfan. Some good information for me in there. If anyone thought cat parts were expensive, they should try buying hyster winch parts, they must have gold in them for some of the prices. Merv
awesome info !!! Thank you
Hyster winch Pumps Thomson Equipment has found a few replacemnets pumps for a number of the Hyster pumps. Be very caerful in useing other pumps than the pumps that was designed for the Hyster winch. If the GPM and flow is not correct you can burn up the cluth packs on older units, the cooling oil pressure may be to high and will start to lock up the clutch packs. [email protected]
If you are looking for parts or service info on the Allied or Hyster winches then the following link will help: http://www.alliedsystems.com/pubs/pubs.htm Click on the Allied Winch link on the top left side of the page and it will drop down a menu for parts, operators, service manuals, etc. You can then choose the appropriate model. To Bob: The original post was regarding an OEM pump that is not sold through a Cat dealer/distributor. Eaton makes the pumps for Allied, and it is identical to the Cat pump in every way except the cost and the Cat part number stamped on it. Good luck.
Hyster Pumps You are correct, Allied does get the W6F pumps form Eaton. When you said Cat pumps I was concerned that when Cat pumps are used thats when you start to have problems, pressure and flows not macthed to the winch and the clutch packs can burn up do to high cooling flows. Bob G
