just acquired one of those. looks like very little use. lot of rust, left steering brake lever seems to be unhooked inside but foot peddle works.oil pressure good no other gauges work. tracks and sprockets in good shape. any comments good bad or ugly would be appreciated. will only be used for light grading on 20 acre farm
hard to believe there is no one on a world wide board that has a comment on this little dozer. guess i will learn on my own. dont see how i went wrong at a couple of hundred over scrap though
Hey, can we have some pictures, that will get the thread 'going' I am sure!
if i can get my son slowed down long enough. when it comes to puters and pics i am less than 0 on a scale of 1 to10
Here you go.
Yair . . . what a nice looking little tractor jughead , looks surprisingly modern, what year would she be? . . . would'nt mind it here myself . . . even with six dollar gasoline, at a hundred hours or so a year it wouldn't amount to much. Any idea what that doovery atop the blade on the L/H side is for? Best of luck with her. Cheers.
thanks wont steer to the left. but if we are on the same page it tilts the blade up and down. will have to work on steering. still trying to find out what type of fluids to put where
Looks like a nice tractor.. nice save! Perhaps this might help for information.. http://www.allischalmers.com/forum/default.asp
thanks i joined it yesterday we will see what turns up
HI: Thats a nice looking dozer, not all beat up & such. I have a 1964 H-3 that Im currently going thru (& I mean thru) LOL. If you talk to anyone that has one of these they talk very highly of them, you would be suprised what they can push for their weight. In fact these two, the H3 gas & the HD3 diesels were THE FIRST crawlers to pull more than their own weight! If I remember right it was 104% for the H & 107% for the HD. Yours is an early one with the thumb button on top of your shuttle clutch lever instead of the later bell type cap on top of the lever. I think that changed in around 1962 early 63. If you can find your serial no one of us on here will be able to let you know your year. Your SN is on the torque tube flange were it mates to the back of the engine block on the left side. Your SN will also tell you which engine it has, either 149 or 160 cubes. Im thinking yours might be the 149. Thanks for posting the pictures.
thanks 61BG been looking for serial number but think i will have pressure wash to get a thin layer of hard dirt off to find it. will post it when found
been a while serial number 10369 block number 3 2160 R was told the serial number is on the frame? that the blade is mounted on and that there was not that many built. would still like to know if 149 or 160 engine. with all the levers and peddles this thing will keep one busy.
