Another one for the CAT gurus

What is the inspection port at lower center of this block for it only had a cover plate and gasket. 3306 PC.

    dip stick & oil filler port for certain apps where top of eng is hard to access

    Lucked out one time on that engine in a 12G , dropped valve screwed the piston above that hole . Went thru that hole to get to the rod instead of pulling the engine .
