Hello everyone, I am new here to the forum so I don't know if this is exactly the proper category but here goes... We're looking for a used J. D. ELC 822 final drive unit for our excavator. Ours is trash. OH yeah, it's TRASH! We purchased another FD unit from a DLC 892 in great shape thinking this complete final would fit but when time came to change it's no match so we're right now pretty much screwed to spend a lot more $$$ on this big boy. We have this good D unit & an extra complete bucket cylinder maybe some cash to boot, or what have you, little horse trading for the correct final to fit this machine.... No parts source we deal with so far wants to trade expecting we'll have to break down pay their exorbitant price within a week or so. When we didn't need one we were tripping over them junked out but now It's a 1997 model serial # FF892EX12345, here's hoping maybe someone has a burned one, broke, wrecked, whatever we can make some kind a deal on this part. The machine is sitting in Georgia just across the state line around Statesboro area being used as a property marker until we fix it. thanks for any help

Maybe it's me, but I can't even find that model machine at Machinery Trader or doing a google search using that model number. :beatsme

The serial number shows 892 ELC, not 822 and there was a serial number break for final drives at 11000. Yours is the later unit which is the same as an EX300-3 Hitachi. Go to www.brikers.com and check their inventory. They're across the country from you but very good to deal with and I know they have had them in the past.

Thanks very much. Sorry about the excavator series 892 mistake. The numbers all start to blend together the later the evening. I will try these folk for sure in the morning....
