I need to run a hyd. drill inside a building i need 25GPM to run was thinking of parking a skid steer outside and run the drill off the aux. circut but I also need to to run a case drain line back to the tank. How can this be done is one model skid steer easier to do this?
I beleave you can do this with a high flow unit, they run about 25.4gpm. Just get a unit that you can lock the aux lines on.Also you can run it off a backhoe thats runs about 28gpm.
You might find a machine that with highflow runs at 25 gpm. Most are more than that. I have case drains on both standard flow and aux. flow. The gpm at standard is about 23 gpm. If you run too much flow and it restricts at the tool you will create a lot of heat. I think you would be better to run slightly less flow into the tool than give it too much.
Bear in mind that if you have a machine delivering 25GPM at the auxilliary connectors, by the time you run it through long hoses you'll have a lot less than 25 gpm at the other end. Give it a try, but don't spend a heap of money on it as you may be disapointed.
i ran a bunch of stuff of a skid steer already...topsoil screen plant...wood processor...you will lose alot of gpm if you run long lines...this is a bit overkill but i used a mack truck that had wet line to run screen plant, now that worked great..know anybody with a truck ??some dump trucks have wet line for snow plow or cinder spreader they work great..
I got a qoute for a custom hydraulic power pack to do the job i want but it is a 6week time to have it made and shiped. I was thinking a high flow machine that was around 26-28 GPM would do the trick just have to run a case drain line. But i beleive most high flow machines also have a case drain line bundeled with the other quick attaches right? The only thing that worrys me is heat from the skid steer running and me being inside a building not idle down the machine in between useage. By the way does somebody have a pick of a high flow quick adapotor setup?
What about stealing the motor and pump off a hydraulic log splitter? Or just disconecting the cylinder and hooking it to the tool? Might be able to get the motor a heap closer? I dont know about an exhaust scrubber for the little honda, but some 4" furnace vent might do the trick... You would also but a pile less fuel with the honda. Check with a hydraulic shop, sometimes the problem in a hydraulic system is that the connectors are not rated form the gpm of the flow... They also would be able to tell you how much line loos you will get. A good shop to talk to is Beiler hydraulic in Leola, Pa. Leola in in Lancaster co. pa, and they are a huge hydraulic shop.
To get 25 GPM at 2250 psi that i require continiously not just peak i will need a 67 HP engine with varible diplacement pump. I am looking at a high flow skid stter but am worried abour over heating and i have found a power pack to run large water pumps that might do the trick. I need to rent for now because the job is only 2 weeks of work and i have to leave this on a side walk in NYC so i need something small not to large have to build a barricade around it to keep people away so a truck will not do the job.
if fumes and noise are an issue why not go with an electric hydro unit i think northern might sell that look aroung lots of industrial machines use stuff like that....
