G'day guys wondering if any one from the HEF will be coming to shanghai to the expo in November? they say there will be over 50,000 people attending it i was wondering just how many people from over seas are coming not just the locals.
JGS Don,t think I will be going but would like to here your opinion of Shantuzu dozers/tractors
Mate honestly I like them a lot and i really have not heard too many bad things about them at all. they are owned by Komatsu a 80% of all there parts are interchangeable and also I know that big companys in china and other parts of south east asia are choosing them over komatsu and caterpillar and i think you will find there is more too it them just cost based argument I really think there qullity has improved a hell of a lot in the last 4-5 years.
Do you mean Shantui dozers? http://en.shantui.com/
Yeah mate
JSG Thanks for the reply Hedrik yeah thats what I meant
Shantui dozers have been trying to crack the dozer market in Australia for over maybe 15-20 yrs. They haven't even made the slightest impression. They are dirt cheap - the only thing that sells them - and they have no resale value accordingly. The old saying applies here - you get exactly what you pay for. The resale value of a Shantui is 1/3rd the price of an equivalent Cat - IF you can find a buyer. Their QC is still doubtful, and parts and service backup is virtually non-existent. The only buyers for them are a few cheap-arse farmers who don't like opening their wallets. I've never seen a contractor with a Shantui, and if they did buy one, clients would be reluctant to have a Shantui on site, because they are a total unknown in quality and performance. The last thing a client wants is a broken-down machine parked on his job site for a week or two, while the owner tries to find parts and a serviceman for it.
Shantui dozers i would only buy a model that was made in the last 2 years or so , agent in australia they are real wankers had a few disputes with them myself something else that has plaged shantui in australia is a lot of chinese trading companys have exported other brand dozers to australia and renamed them shantui i know this as a fact as i have seen some of these machines and shantui dose not make a high tracked dozer. but really shantui is only set up for china in there current state komatsu in china is ther service agent in mainland china. basicly komatsu took them over so they could get into the chinese market place with out setting up another factory or lowering the prices on there japanese made dozers. Also a new model shantui with the right running gear is actually not that much cheaper then a new komatsu or CAT , shantui like 90% of other chinese brands they sell a differant model depending on the market it is going too.
