Hello Mitch504, I have a Cat. 931b, that is 12 volt sys., i have seen gages on e bay, but they do not say is they are 12 or 24 volt, or does it matter, thanks.

If the machine is 12 volt, you are in luck. Any old car gauges from your local parts store will work. Most of the gauges you see are 12 volt, and with mechanically sensing gauges, the only thing that matters is the light bulb anyway. If the gauge uses a sending unit with a wire running from it to the gauge, the voltage has to match. I personally buy all my filters from the Cat store, or my local Mack dealer, but that's just because the prices are comparable, or better than other's around here. Carquest and NAPA can both get them also, though I have had trouble w/ their fuel filters splitting at the seam on a Cat 3304.

Hi, mitch504, This old machine came from Orandberg, it looks like a couple tons of brick landed on it a couple of times, from the looks of it you can tell it did its job. The dash pannel is tornup a bit and it cracked down the middle, and it had been hot wired. But to late to turn back now, on with the repairs. The hour meter is not in working order, and the other gages are clouded or dirity, i may try to clean a couple of them up. Right now i'am trying to make some kind of dash panel, not sure what type of material to use, plywood or metal, bot holes in metal would be hard for me to do, any ideas. Sam.

I'll just have to look a little harder, I found out the new switch that i purchased, will not fit, so i need to find a slimmer model, I did make the new dash, from a big pine that i cut a few years back. It looks yellow as cat paint, i hope a different switch will work in the hole that is cut.

Most guages are made aftermarket and are priced extremely cheap. You should be able to find sources online. Good luck.

Hello Sir, The Guage i got from the Cat people is 3T-6129, it is made well but is to big, it hits the foot control, keeping the dash from being screw down. I paid 75.00 for it. What my part books says is 6N8941, I have looked on e-bay but have not seen one with that number, also i need to rebuild the seal Kit in the bucket cylinders, and i hope to get started on athe brakes and clutch soon, but have not removed the cover plate yet. Thanks, wosama

Hello , i have made another dash pannel out of plex-glass, and got the old 931b running, the plex-glass allowed me to get the new switch in place, i have only put one guage in so far, Amp., i set it in some pvc pipe and looks ok, It was good to get it going but i noticed some fumes coming from the bottom of motor. I guess the next job will be to clean up the motor and remove the pans under to see if there are any leaks. when i get the camera working ill try to post a photo. every one have a great day. Ps, i have fixed the tilt cylinders but i may have to bleed the air out to get them working.

Hi HEF, I built a couple guards to cover the hyd. lines that go to the 4 in 1 bucket, i'am not a good welder, just learing, some ugly welding. I did get a maginifer lenze that helped some, and used a ST80i to do the weld. sam.
