Hi anybody knows if there is much diferrence between belgium made 320 (4zj series) and japanese made 320 (90´s). I think belgium made are sold in Europe and the others in USA. The engine for the european version is 3116t and for de japanese are 3066.
the front window was a dead giveaway ,belguim was a standard 50 50 the jap was 70 30 ,the lights on top of the cab was as standard on the belguim ,and not on the jap ,and on the c models the jap had a flat bonnet the belguim had a raised black bonnet, my opinion is the jap was a better machine it actually has a mitsubishi engine which is more reliable and easier on fuel, but european dealers would tend to disagree with me ,the first question they all ask is where you bought the machine, if you didnt buy it from them they refused to sell parts to you for it. typical cat ******** and a serious breach of consumer rights but its happening, the cat dealer went as far as telling me one day that my jap 320 wasnt a cat just because they didnt sell it to me. personally id be a hitachi doosan man since cat shafted me, but if i had a choice id buy the jap 320, it wont break your heart like the crap they produce in europe and america
good luck getting engine parts for a 3066 in some markets (dealers don't stock them if the engine wasn't imported into their territory) is all I can say. We used to find it difficult to get service information on models like the 3066 because they were not officially exported into our market. In my experience cjp's comment applies to new machines and warranty more than parts. If you buy a brand-new Cat machine in one dealer's territory and then put it to straight to work in the territory of another dealer is it fair to expect the 2nd dealer to do things like warranty work and product upgrades, etc, if he never got his profit margin from the original machine sale..? For things like used machines that are out of warranty and parts this does not apply. Used machines get sold & move around all the time.
