Hi Guys. So I have a Bell B25B Articulated Dump truck. On the propeller shaft that comes from the engine to the transmissions(ZF 6WG200). There is a splined flange that connects to the transmissions shaft. On the flange there's a washer/retainer with two bolts holes(M10 hex). That retainer with the bolts keeps the flange in place. That two bolts keep on breaking off. That allows the flange to move forward with the propeller. Then no drive after or damaged flange. Please advise.
Welcome to HEF DieselMec . The Deere parts book shows a retainer (#1) that keeps the (2) bolts from loosening off. See screenshot below. Does the driveshaft have a slip joint or is it a fixed length ? .
DieselMec, the 6WG200 usually got a fix flange, the length compensation is done with the prop shaft. To protect prop shaft, input flange to converter from damages there should be a vibration damper attached to engine flywheel. Please check for corrosion resp. proper function.
Hi Thank you DieselDave. Yes the driveshaft have a slip joint.
