The thumb/bucket hinge pin on my excavator is bent enough to not allow pin removal which also means I cannot change buckets . Whats the best way to correct this problem? Cut pin? suggestions please.Thanks.

Get in there and chew it off grandpa.
Maybe porta-band or thermal lance (video required )

Jack345 , that must be a mild steele pin. I've never seen one bend. Pins usually break but never bend.
Grandpa is right, someone thought pins cost too much and made one.
Looks like factory bucket pin with welded ear for quick change out but you may be right. Is steel alloy 4140 the right material for pins? And thanks for the info . Jack
