does anyone have exp with alumium rollers and idlers on cat skidsteers. do they cost more ? do they last longer ? do they wear the inside of the track faster ?
Cant say from experience but I will know shortly. Im tired of going through the composite rollers so Im going to start replacing them with Aluminum rollers. For my 257 the seem to run about $70 more http://www.trackloaderparts.net/Caterpillar-2.aspx
Have had steel rear idlers on 287c and 297c now for almost 1 year. Cats plastic/compost undercarriage parts are a joke in our conditions. ASV has been offering steel idlers for some time now. Have steel on both front and back idlers on 297c now for around 400 hours....not seeing inside track issues. Haven't used alloy boggies but might in the future.
