Got some good shots of a rather large kobelco crawler crane being used on a new building project on virginia tech campus.
They are building another hall casting everthing in place. Its pretty cool, they had some huge post hole diggers in digging holes for the footers, unfortunatley i didn't get a chance to get pics of them.
Doesn't appear that large of a rig. Just the fact it has a luffer makes it appear bigger.
i know nothing about cranes so i recind my statement. one of the biggest crawler cranes i've seen.
No need to recind anything. That is 200 ton crane, CK 2000, or can lift 200 tons with base boom near the tracks. While true, not the biggest in the world, one of the larger ones you might commonly see in normal building work.
