Hi,.. would like to read your comments operating some of the old heavy winches. models like the carco J-10 w hand levers and the j-120. I,m thinking about mounting a winch on my old C-6/ 82-30 dozer and I,d like to hear from some of the experienced members. Thanks, Terry
You HAVE to have a interuptable pto shaft to mount a sliding gear winch onto a powershift tractor. Otherwise you can,t get it into and more importantly OUT of gear. Havn,t had anything to do with the Terex,s. Only ones I know you do this on was Allis HD16 and 21 that had a modulating input clutch where you can manually engage the pto shaft. Still a pita; a powershift winch like a J120ps makes life so much easier.
