Ok got my v1702 out finally (stuck splines) getting motor changed out to a v2203. Should i keep the manual engine shutoff or go with the solenoid shutoff thats on the 2203 now? What else can i expect to be different with this swap?(besides the flywheel, motor mounts intake, alt. oil filter location etc...and oil pan) Engine bay was FULL of grease grime/oil diesel/ leaves and dirt. Pressure washed it out and within a day found a diesel fuel line leak. And now i found untainted hydro oil directly underneath the back of the pump. Im going to pressure wash again and pay close attention but im thinking real seal on pump. How would i remove the splined shaft to get to the seal? i see a bolt in the center...but theres no lip behind the splines to get a puller on? What kind of performance gain can i expect going from 36hp to 51hp?

so nobody here has experience with a repowered 743 with a v2203....and nobody has experience with changing out the shaft seal on the hydro pump on a 743 either?

Don't know about the engine swap, can't help you there. Post a picture of the shaft/seal in question. It has been 30+ years since I worked for Bobcat so maybe a pic will jog my ancient memory .

With it all being hydraulic driven, and as light as the machine is I don't think you will see much if any performance difference in adding hp to the machine. It will still turn the pumps and not bog down as easy when you are doing multiple functions at once. I would suspect you will use some more fuel as well, the electronic fuel shut off is nice and but either one will stop the motor so that is your preference. As far as the pump seal I am guessing it bolts together somewhere along the way and you will have to pull the case apart to get the shaft out to gain access to the seal.

You should be able to remove the splines when the bolt is removed. Then the seal should be held in with a snap ring.
