    Is your fuel shutoff working?

    Any smoke while cranking?

compression sounds a little on the low side. assuming this is something new that just started happening? fuel shut off should move when the key is turned on, (or when cranking, depending on what series/options 763 it is) check your primer bulb and make sure you are getting fuel from the tank, depending on air temps if ALL your glows plugs are dead, OR they arent being energized, ( bad switch or relay) it may not want to start :drinkup

fuel shut off is not moving with key on. right now I by myself so I cant tell if it is working while cranking so I zip tied the shut off to open and it is still not starting

    nope no smoke while cranking

now all of a sudden the machine will crank for a second then stop and makes a beeping noise. have no idea whats going on now

when you try to start, and it beeps, do not turn the key off. press and hold the light switch down, and watch the hr meter display, it will change from the meter reading to a 4 digit code ie: 00-00 check in your little spiral wound operators manual, it should have the codes listed. then get back to the thread. :drinkup

Ditto that! On any Bobcat G series, anytime you hear three beeps, don't touch nothing, don't shut it off, immediately push and hold down the head light button to retrieve the active fault codes that caused the beeps.

ok I tried it got a code 14-03

ok I know it is for the fuel shut off solenoid. there is a new solenoid on there already. could it be because I zipped tied the solenoid open. or could there be a wiring problem

i tried switching relays cause I really don't feel the relay clicking over and still nothing. is there a way to test that circuit

ok got it to keep cranking again and there is black smoke coming out of the exhaust

ok I just found out that with a very long mirror that the solenoid does move over while cranking. but it only stays to the on position for 2 seconds then goes back to off position. is that normal. it is starting to sound like it want to start but sadly it does not

that solenoid is actually 2 coils, one pulls and holds for a few seconds and shuts off, the secondary coil holds the shutoff lever in the on position. you may have a bad "hold" coil or a broken wire in the harness. inspect the engine harness in the area of the flat 3 pin connector. i've seen more than one harness rubbed through or pinched in the area around the fuel filler :drinkup
