bobcat 853 problems

i have a early 90s 853 bobcat which worked fine yesterday. i went to use it today and the hydraulics would only go up and the bucket would only dump. the lift arms would not lower and the bucket would not curl back. once i shut the machine off, i hit the controls and the lift arms would lower and the bucket would curl back. has something like this ever happened to any of you?
