purchased a 863 that had Been sitting up for a while. Been going threw it replacing fuel lines An hyd hoses Been trying to start it up an can't seem to get it to start up. Replaced lift pump with electric fuel Pump. We have fuel to filter An to all 4 injector banjo bolts. Each injector has its on fuel return line I noticed few of the small braided lines were leaking a lil fuel. So I loosened each injector line an noticed no fuel from any injector lines. Removed shut off solinoid An noticed the rack inside isn't moveing freely. Tried to pull it litely with a pic An couldn't get it to loosening up. Need some Input before I try to force an screw something up

Haven't played with a Deutz in a while. Oil cooled? If it is, be careful when putting that solenoid back in. That "L" shaped linkage is easy to get in the wrong spot and jam the rack open. I know a guy who blew up one because of that. Did you check the timing belt up front? They've been known to break.

IF the main engine rack is stuck, it usually means one of the pumps are frozen.. Just mark them to the block & remove 1x1 until the rack frees up.. There are shims under each pump.. keep them w/ each cylinder..

Did some Research after posting this last nite An found we're these motors we're bad bout the injector pumps sticking. Well I pulled them out today An found that there were 2 sticking. I sea foamed them few times an kept working threw out the day an they freed up. But my helper that pulled them outta the block didn't mark what hole they came out of. So now I have to figure out how to reinstall them back into fuel rail slide An how to adjust each pump. Sure hope not to screw it up

There is a line on the pump & a line on the block.. lineum up.. The BIGGEST problem is engaging the engine rack w/ the pin on the pump.. if you miss it, you bend the engine rack & theres no going back from that, other than replacement.. IF you measure the shims, you;ll probably find that they're all the same, so don't sweat that to much.. Theres actually a tool that you put in the block that holds the rack in the correct position to drop the pumps in.. BUT it can be done w/o it..
