Bobcat AUX Coupler (Female) leaking – replaced twice- same issue

Hondaracing02 · 2025-02-04 01:25

Have a T190 that the lower female aux coupler started leaking. We were running it on a new grapple (less than a year old) with good flatface couplers on the grapple. The lower female bobcat coupler started spittin oring pieces and leaking pretty good. Went to dealer, got a new one. After a short bit with grapple hooked up, it started to drip. Unhooked grapple and surged hydraulics each way some, fluid started slowly seeping through coupler even with no attachment. Took it back to OTHER dealer location (hoping to get a coupler from a different batch) and got another new OEM coupler. Same results. They said they’ll give us another, but how can this happen twice. Is this a common theme on these couplers? Things to note: spring is centered and in place as should be, although that’s just to bleed off pressure. The grapple worked fine all last fall until what I assume was the original AUX coupler started to leak just a couple weeks ago. Thanks !

Seems to be a battle at times. We sell mostly aftermarket replacement couplers, 100s of them. At times we've had reoccurring failures so try oem and those also fail. Usually a burred mating coupler. . .

One of my customers lost brand new motor on Fecon mulching attachment. Because his pressure line leaked in to case drain line, through “pressure release” thingy. Build too much case pressure, and ripped two slippers out of the pistons, in the motor.

I agree with @ozarkag , look at the mating side. It seems like one side is female and the other male, but can't remember which one is which. Grapples are notorious for tearing up couplers.
