I recently installed a new hydraulic thumb on my 2018 E42 bobcat. I think its caused some air to end up in the system. I only notice the noise when I move the boom cylinder. It makes a whining noise and gets worse as the fluid warms up. Any suggestions on what I need to do?
Did you already have the plumbing for the thumb on the stick? I ordered my E42 with the "clamp" as Bobcat calls it, I think there was a menu setting appropriate for thumb hydraulics.
The air will purge with time. Cycle the hydraulics a bunch and it'll likely go away. Also make sure your hydraulic fluid level is topped up.
