A friend dropped off his 1992 Bobcat model 753 at my place for me to use. When i start the unit it gives a warning beep(3) and the display shows HF1-2. The service code book says WARNING,high restriction. I checked the hydro fluid level and it is fine. What does this mean? Is it something i can repair? The unit works fine except the loud noise of the hydrolics when i turn etc. How loud should they be? Is this also the cause of the "bucking" when going over bumps? Should i work at full throttle or slower? Sorry for so many questions but im new to these machines. Thanks for any help.
Sounds like it needs fluid. If its full then it may need a filter. I like to operate my machine around 1800-2000 rpm. Put the throttle all the way forward then back off slightly to get there. If you try to operate the machine slowly, and at half throttle it will buck. Throttle up and make steady deliberate movements with the controls.
Sounds like a plugged filter. The hydraulic filter should be just inside the back door above the engine on right side. Should be a screw-on cartridge filter with a drip tray below it and a pressure switch connected to the line on the right side of the filter housing. Last one I bought was about $40; that was last spring. You don't want to operate the loader with a plugged filter. You can cause damage to the hydrostatic drive pump if it doesn't get enough oil. The loader must have the BOSS System (digital dash on right side of cab). The Bobcat Operation Sensing System (BOSS) will shut down the engine and only let it run for 30 seconds at a time when the BOSS detects a problem. If it shuts the engine down, turn off the key wait a few seconds and you can restart. This will allow you to load the machine to take it for service if needed.
it either needs a filter or the sensor went bad thats usaully what casues that code
