I am in need of some help on this one guys! Ok was on a job and my S220 started disengaging the tilt and lift and i would engage it back and bucket would go down maybe 6 inches and it would disengage again. I could still push the pedals and after several times it then wouldn't even move at all.. So i checked the codes and it had a code that was hydraulic lock solenoid short to ground. next i cleaned it out real good and then checked for any lose wires or wires touching, etc. i did find one wire that was cut pretty good over to left side by back of the seat so i repaired it and also there were a couple of wires that looked questionable so i took care of them as well. i started it back up and that did fix the disengaging and tilt and lift light and the tilt and lift was woking as well but after about 5 mins it started to not tilt and and bucket wouldn't go up or down but i could still push pedals and it would still stay engaged.. so went to bobcat and they said it has to be coil solenoid so bought part and put it on and this time it now will go up and down but will not tilt and at first you could push pedal and could tell it was trying to tilt but now the tilt pedal is locked. checked and no codes. So any ideas or direction on what to do next will be gladly appreciated! its an 06 S220 with foot controls for tilt and lift
I'll ask my mechanic what was wrong with mine it's an 03' 220 and the same thing happened a couple of years ago, something about a spring holding a little ball in place had it stuck in detent or something.I don't really work on them so I'll see if he remembers and I'll explain it better.
with manual foot controls you have 2 lock solenoids (1 each for lift and tilt) in the control valve. if they dont unlock the pedal will not move. lock solenoids are 1" hex with 2 wires. depending on the version of software in your machine, they may or may not throw a fault code. ( i've seen bad coils not throw codes) check to see that they are both plugged in, and no broken wires swap the solenoids and see if the problem moves, if it does, probably have a bad solenoid. :drinkup
