T190 Key Pad problem

jscanga ยท 2012-07-08 14:35

We went to move our T190 to find that the battery was dead. We were able to jump start it and move it. It is not something that get used all the time so it probably sat for 3 or 4 weeks before the next time we went to start it. Again the battery was dead. We replaced the battery now the key pad appears not to have power. The battery is good (we can crank the motor at the soleniod) and have checked all the fuses. Anyone have an idea as to what went wrong? Is there any way to drag it onto a trailer so we can get it to Bobcat (Bobcat wants a fortune to come out to look at it). Thanks John

Does it have any power in the cab? Headlights. dome light? If nothing works in the cab, lights will turn on with machine off, I would check the 100 amp fuse back by the battery, just follow the postive cable that don't go to the starter.

check the small ground wires at the neg battery cable. remove lh dash panel, unplug the panel check for 12v @ red (or red/white) wire with the key off. most common place for f*cked wiring to the cab is under the cab, left side of frame, large connector, where cab harness connects to main harness. the harness is probaby tucked up on top of the hyd tank. :drinkup

Ditto, I've had to repair the red/wht wire that had bad pin connections inside that harness plug on a number of machines. :yup

Yep, the wiring on my T190 was frayed there from rubbing/vibration so sometimes if it got wet in there the machine would suddenly die. Bobcat should have put more/better sheathing on those wires!

problem wasnt with the sheathing, but how bobcat secured the harness to the machine, and just kinda "jammed" the cab to mainframe harmess connector up on top of the hyd tank. older track machines are the worst for electrical problems. :drinkup
