Bobcat T190 instrument panel

dodgedad ยท 2013-06-06 08:15

Hi, i have just purchased a T190 and it has the deluxe instrument panel on it and as i was scrolling through the differant displays i came across one that said d-grade and as i am curious i pushed the enter button and then it shut down the engine and when i went back to start it again i had lost my sign in pin code and now when i try using the code it says invalid pin code. It starts fine and everything seems to be working but now i cannot lock it out at night so no one else can start it, Help.

Contact your Bobcat dealer, if you give them the machine S/N they should be able to give you the master code for the keypad, then you can reset your user codes.

dodgedad, try holding the run/enter button for 10 seconds. This should reset your deluxe panel settings.

Thanks part sman i will give that a try and then i can punch in a new code. I tried our Bobcat dealer and they said i would have to bring it in so that they can reprogram it at a cost of 129. , ouch, better becareful what i touch

the down grade button you pushed tells the main controller, you are removing a deluxe panel, and installing a keyed panel. :drinkup

the controller thinks you have a std panel in it, thats why your passwords arent functioning. :drinkup

Thanks again Crewchief for the info, looking like it is going to have to be a visit with the machine to bobcat to get them to reset the instrument panel. Or is there another any other method from here to do.

Well, as a 'new T190 Owner' who definitely likes to get hands on with all Tech Things and quite possibly 'dig holes and then try to fill them in' in a technical way, as it were, ^ THIS is definitely one thing that I will NOT try to do now, so thanks for the info here once again!! ** That being said, to make a machine that WILL let you near this section and alter it so drastically WITHOUT having you BE 'The Master Code Holder' seems crazy to me for sure.. Cannot see a reason for that at all!! I deal with a lot of very high tech Electronic Pro Audio Equipment (have for 30 years) that is increasingly getting 'way more computer-like' and there is NO way that you could arbitrarily toss away a function such as this that would drastically alter a device without having the ability to put it back immediately as the same user ~ I suspect/hope it is simply a Goofy Oversight by the Programmer who put this function into the machine when they built the software for the keypad ~ and if not, then it surely is a 'silly money making quirk' for Dealers to expect you to come on back to give them $129, and ultimately one that makes a USER crazy I am sure, and may well LOSE him work and $$.. and accordingly a quirk that should be fixed and only enable The Master Code Holder to do such a thing.. Methinks!!

the reason for passwords is to stop machine theft, and to stop unauthorized use. downgrade feature is built ito the deluxe panel. so an authorized owner can install a keyed panel. buying used/salvage/auction eq is always a gamble if it has a keyless panel, and you dont have the owner password to unlock or change passwords. i wont give out a master password over the phone, or in person without the actual owner of the machine standing there authorizing acess to his eq. :drinkup

I totally 'get' and do like the Password reason, handy for never being able to forget keys/ have to meet people to get a set to them.. and also ESP given apparent options of several users and unique codes and 'lock outs' for High-Flow,etc.. I was meaning ^ above ^ that it seemed a bit goofy to me for a person who 'could not have the access to put it back' to be able to REMOVE the Keyless Panel (if I understood term D-grade to be a 'downgrade' to Keyed panel) by simply having a certain level of USER.. but, perhaps I misunderstand WHAT the User was doing in his quest, or that he may have had a Master Code and was unable to remember it, I cannot say if so.. just seems odd that without at least a prompt of 'are you sure you want to' or at least an ENTER of Maser Code required, that he was able to do what it seems he did so easily.. And I don't need any other info/codes for mine, if you thought I may.. my local dealer had the T190 on their lot for the Insurance Company and people to view (they sold it originally, and serviced as well) and they programmed my Master Code and showed me how to do User Codes as I chatted to the Service Manager ** That being said, they also informed me (as you say above) the first day I went by to see them after the tender was up on the bid, that without my Bill of Sale and a message from the Insurance Company that they also would not have done what they did for me.. Thanks again for all the info here, a great help as I am reading through and searching a LOT of posts the past few days!!
