got a chance for a good deal on this unit w/ grapple rake, i wan to us it in georgia to pick up small trees, brush and stump when i clear w loader, nothing big just want to clean it up and stack it so it i can get a good burn, my question is how good do these machines get around in any soft dirt or clay, also whats the difference in the 773 and the s series, like a s175
differences There aren't really a lot of differences, couple part numbers here and there, the original s series are a lot closer to the g series , but the k-series have a and extra hydraulic pump and a different cooling fan setup, as far as running them no differences. there no more grunt in the s series than the g series. But all skids suck in the soft dirt and clay
their are a few diffrent 773's f series are the old ones none turbo square cab then their are g series none turbo triangle cab lights then their are 773's that are g series turbo i don;t know the exact horse power on all three but i know they increased over the years the s175 is just the new version of the 773 none turbo better pumps same or more horse on the engine faster cycle times and just all around better depending on who you talk to as far as working on them and controls the drive chains are heavier and diffrent drive motors the pumps are pretty much the same as far as the hydrostat better rotating groups its all in who you ask some guys like the old metal some like the new
yeah i forgot about the turbos, but the s185 replaced the turbo 773, not a lot more power really, just more counterweight, demoed a 2004 s185 but decided i needed at least a s205 to get rid of my g series 773 just not enough grunt as compared to my 3200hr 773
