Hi all. I was hoping to get some advice on a problem I have encountered on my new TL12. I have almost 200 hours on the machine and it works terrific. I use it pretty much as if it were a small dozer: leveling terrain, digging holes, pushing trees over... The machine can take pretty much anything you throw at it. Recently purchased a faver grapple and a beltec auger. Next is the fecon mulching head. There seems to be one problem. The bolt which is holding the pin holding the left loader arm, keeps braking. It has happened 2x already. It happens because the pin keeps wanting to come out and eventually shears the bolt in 2. The same bolt on the other side is loose, as it should be. Anyone have any ideas why? Thanks for your help again.
Are you prying with the bucket more on the side the bolt is breaking, that might have something to do with it.Sure you are getting grease to the pin?Not sure how the pin is held in,guessing there is a spacer welded to the outside of the arm and the pin bolt goes threw it and the pin.Is there room for the pin to come from the inside of the arm.Weld a washer on the head of the pin and slid the pin in from the insde, would help take some of the pressure of the bolt.Good luck
Is the pin taking grease ? Try laying coupler flat on floor with a little gap under it .Knock in fron the inside of the coupler to the outside of machine .Look at pin to make sure it straight .If grease is not coming out of pin heat up with a torch a little than pump grease in to it .I had this happan to a couple of the TL12 here at work do this.
Tak problems Tool king, The pin is taking grease and it is straight, I took it out as you suggested and checked. What should I do now? Two other problems have occurred since my last post: 1. AC and fan went out. I checked fuse and it is blow, but the black box around it is completely melted. Why did this happen? 2. Hydraulic oil is below red line. We really do not use any attachments but the bucket and there is no visible external leak. The machine is under warranty but the nearest dealer is 2 hours away. Please help. Thank you.
Hi marcin Give me a call at 1-201-832-1606 during the day .It will easier to help you over the phone . Thanks Ed
Yair . . . marcin . That bolt shearing sure seems strange. It appears to be a well engineered and manufactured assembly. To shear the bolt the pin would need to grab and try and rotate or be subjected to significant side force . . . do the holes line up nicely or line up better one way or the other when you rotate the pin one eighty degrees? Of course the immediate fix is to use a grade 8 bolt or a piece of 4140 rod but that doesn't address the issue, it shouldn't be happening. Cheers.
