We may be moving from an L170 NH to a Komatsu SK820-5 and have a general question. Have any of you built a lower boom stop to protect the lower part of the boom from being bent/sprung? We like the way the L170 boom arms rest on the frame which to us makes sense for pushing operations. The Komatsu does not do that and we figure we can build some nice stops and attach them to the front of the machine. We will have a dozer blade and a set of Loegering tracks and then put wheels back on for winter to plow with. Need to multi-task with this machine and want to keep those arms from being damaged so that is why we are asking what you folks have done. Thanks for any ideas.
