Hi. Just wondering why on some machines undercarriages have bottom rollers that pivot in pairs and some are fixed? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each type? I tried searching but couldn't find much info. Thanks
Pivoted rollers give better traction. Fixed are cheaper.
Pivoted roller usually have some sort of bogie suspension system which also improves the ride quality.
