And that operater gets to stay in the gene pool.

  2. #2willie592013-02-09 21:44

Wow, that operator ain't wearing a jock strap...he's gotta be wearing a bra to support those 'nads.

  3. #3mitch5042013-02-09 21:48

    Geez

  4. #4RocksnRoses2013-02-10 05:33

I'd say he is both. He has probably done it may times before and he knows what the bridge can carry, if he hasn't and doesn't, he is both. RnR.

  5. #5heavylift2013-02-10 06:16

    wow

  6. #6schuiver2013-02-10 07:26

    He's got balls.

  7. #7Nige2013-02-10 08:53

Well at least we know what the safe load for the bridge is ..........!!

  8. #8boaterri2013-02-10 10:47

I don't think I want to be the next person to cross the bridge with a "normal" load. Rick

  9. #9jake9802013-02-10 12:09

it was probably a... "drive it across or your fired, we will get someone else to do it." would have been a good place to clogg a fuel filter or something!

  10. #10OzDozer2013-02-10 22:32

They make good steel wire rope in Turkmenistan! Praise Allah!!

  11. #11RayF2013-02-10 23:30

I'll bet money the operator took the rest of the day to remove the seat cushion.

  12. #12CM19952013-02-11 08:27

Wow. The fine line between brave and stupid couldn't have come closer.... That water looked cold.

  13. #13Nige2013-02-11 10:10

........... not to mention deep & fast flowing.

  14. #14donkey doctor2013-02-11 11:39

......not to mention a long way below that bridge.

  15. #15Greg2013-02-11 12:15

I know we have gotten totally carried away with things in this country on how things must be done but the third world never ceases to amaze me. Reminds me of the Tacoma Narrows bridge here in Washington State

  16. #16grandpa2013-02-11 18:39

Lmao.... you would have been dead of a heart attack b4 you hit the deep or fast flowing..

  17. #17OBPM2013-02-11 19:44

Call me a skeptic, but I didn't see the bridge move at all as he drove across. Someone perhaps with way too much time on their hands and video editing software????

  18. #18smooth2013-02-16 14:46

    No Way!! No How!! WOW!!!

  19. #19Oxbow2013-02-16 15:09

No road on the other side of that bridge is rough enough for my to try that!

  20. #20Nige2013-02-16 16:21

I'm sitting here thinking back about 30 years to some of the Bailey bridges we built in Africa to cross the rivers between one mine and another. Always puckered the sphincter crossing them with a lowboy + D9 or something like a 641 scraper ......

  21. #21stinkycat2013-02-16 20:59

Wasn't apart of the job? No big deal no rops, CBI hard hats and we were bullet proof.

  22. #22OzDozer2013-02-16 21:08

Bailey bridges are incredibly strong and have a inbuilt safety factor of around 100%. The panels are made from low-alloy high tensile steel - and a triple-panel, two-panel high, Bailey bridge will support around 60 tons over a 200' span. The wire rope bridge in the above video probably has a surprisingly high weight capacity, because SWR is also exceptionally strong, and the rope diameter is probably a lot bigger than it first appears. The weak point is in the bridge abutment anchor points - but it looks like someone knew what they were doing, when they installed the abutments and the anchors. It surprises me, that after all the work involved in the bridge construction, that the builders didn't install a permanent type of bridge weight limit advisory sign.

    Third world testing proceedure!

  24. #24robin yates uk2013-02-17 10:02

unbelievable ! Balls of steel or very, very poor eyesight and judgement

  25. #25OzDozer2013-02-17 19:50

Robin - Probably just no other options. The bloke most likely had the choice of crossing at that point, or taking a 200 mile detour. It's a lot more risky life in those parts of the world - bandits are probably a greater risk than tackling the bridge. And if it isn't bandits - he was probably just one step ahead of a major landslide that would fill in the river bed, as happened with Lake Attabad in Northern Pakistan.

  26. #26Errol2013-02-17 22:02

Real solid bridge construction in spite of it's looks. You would have thought those flimsy concrete abutments would have snapped sideways!!!

  27. #27Darrin2013-02-18 00:55

at the end of the video you can see where they had a low water crossing to the right.. think I would have taken that one instead

  28. #28jdm2013-02-18 08:31

That is what bridges in the USA will look like in 50 years.

  29. #29td25c2013-02-21 21:37

Thats pretty wild. The guy on the ground talking to the grader driver kinda looks like Harrison Ford.Could be a preview of the next Indiana Jones film, they probably got Jackie Chan to drive it over the bridge

  30. #30Dozerboy2013-02-21 21:58

I would be nervous to walk across that thing
