It was a nice weekend The Bucyrus Erie E2 has well done again for 2 days. We have seen and spoken a lot of happy people. There are still some small things to the dragline but for her age she did good, and that we also get good the next time. Higro and the Wegenbouwmuseum have put down a beautiful event. So on to next year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxXSWur8wJU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iREl6VNoMjQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXajv_ZeXo8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sza_yPDScM
Wow, how old is that old girl? What's she powered by?
Bucyrus Erie She is from 1923 so 90 years old. She is build with a steam engine but during the crossing to Europe she hase got on fire. In the port there is build in an Atlas Imperial 4 cylinder diesel This engine is a shipengine that is adjusted in the factory by Bucyrus Erie. The control is converted from steam to compressed air. The wooden casing is turned to steal, after ww2 and is built by us back to wood. Here weight is 32 tons and she is 5.10 mtr high The boom is 17 mtr. Total lenght is 25 mtr The engine is compressed air startet.
What a great bit of kit. Incredibly impressive for 90 years old. Graham
