i want to build a compact lube skid, was thinking of using heavy wall plastic chemical tanks, 20 gallon for new engine oil,60 gallon for old oil recover, 40 gallon for hydraulic oil , and 20 gallon for to4 50wt. would then mount a ten gallon air tank with air water filter from compressor, out the tank, have a air regulator with lines branched out to new, hydraulic, and gear tanks, valves for each. on the recovery tank would you use a 12v or a 120v vac pump? i am not maintaining fleets of equipment just tired of buckets and messes. will this work what are your thoughts ??
Sure, what are your concerns - that is pretty straight forward. I assume air pumps for the new oil, but why not air for the recovery pump also? Something like a 3/4" diaphragm pump. With some creative plumbing and valves, you can use the same pump to off load the old oil also. Hose reels? Make provisions for pallet forks to lift it. And possibly a bail on it for moving with a crane.
Yep, valve is available for two-way diaphragm pump.
Don't forget to post some photo's of it when your done and also what you should have changed but figured out after the fact so it can help those wanting to do the same thing. Can't argue with you at all on hating five gallon buckets, all those things do is leak water into the bucket around the plastic spout. Some have gone to the plastic fuel can's with the screw on lids like the stock car racers use, think they hold about six gallons or so, they are water tight and ice doesn't seem to both their either when left out on the top racks of service trucks.
