C15 flywheel housing

Is it necessary to remove the rearmost section of the oil pan gasket upon installation of a flywheel housing ?

    No idea off-hand but post an engine Serial Number & machine Model or application so that we can see online what you're looking at in the flesh so to speak.

    Yes, if you don't want it to leak.

    Engine serial is SPD16920.

    It is a rubbery gasket. W800.

    You'll need to pull the rear oil pan bolts to remove the bell housing. If your gasket didn't tear while removing the bell housing and you don't want to pull your oil pan. You can clean and apply ultra grey or ultra brack and you'll be fine. Personally, I would drop the oil pan and put a new gasket on but I don't know your situation.
