Good morning. I have a c15 mxs that the driver says makes a chuffing noise when applying throttle at around 1400 rpm with a good size load. Says sounds like waste gate blowing off and EGT climbs . Its been converted to a single turbo , with a 16:1 compression. Its brand new head, pistons etc. Any ideas
IVAS still present? Are they set or backed off?
Wastegate blowing off would make a sound in the exhaust, if that were possible. Wastegate only relieves exhaust pressure on the front side of turbine. What is the boost doing? It isn't a misfire, is it?
Has it done this since it was converted or a issue that just started?
I'm told boost is at 40 psi. Its a new issue. What would cause misfire
IVA'S are backed off
Imo--would check turbo first--because both the noise and high egt can possibly be related to turbo.
