Can someone explain to me the differences in the Case 580 acronyms, or point me to a link that tells me what they mean? Ive looked all over trying to find something that explains them but found nothing. Im lost...
Basically, the age of the machine. Everytime they made a big change to the machine, they changed the letter. 580ck: The very oldest, actually, they are all ck, up into the '90s at least. Ck stands for construction king, and when there are no letters after it, it is '60s to very early '70s. 580b,c,d,e,f,k: they just are newer models in alphabetical order. When you get to 580sk, that stands for super k. It is a newer model that didn't get it's own letter. :beatsme It came out in late 1990. Then when you get to the Ls and the Ms, super means bigger, not newer. Good luck Oh, by the way, the letters mostly work this way on all brands of machines.
