Carogator you peeked my interest what do you mean exactly when you said [ Put the slip joint back togather out of time ] it was in regards to a pig that was vibrating in a truck.

    Maybe I can help.If you pull a drive shaft a part at the slip joint it has to go back in time.Meaning the yokes on the shaft have to be in line.Next time you can look at one on a truck.If it is not in time it will vibrate.

    Yes thats it.On a two piece drive shaft.And the jack shaft all so. Just one tooth off will make then vibrate

    Yep, they gave you good descriptions. Poor head mechanic at a trucking company I was leased to had to drive 60 miles and redo one in 33 degree pouring rain. Bet he won't do that again. Felt really sorry for him. ALSO, you have to watch the angle of the joints if you happen to move any spacers under the springs. Need about 5 degees angle.
