Case 1155e Low PSI Trans.

BradleyGA ยท 2018-04-27 22:40

Maybe you guys can help. 91 model 1155e loader losing pressure after 45min operation. Replaced charging pump, changed tch fluid, checked screen ontop of control valve, cleaned filter at charging pump and inspected modulator valve. Checked springs on pressure regulator and relief valve on converter. Going from 305 psi to 100 psi continuous after 45min 1800 rpm. Still can operate all lever functions high, low forward, reverse and spin. but have no right or left brake just both brakes at one time. My converter is staying in the 140degrees range never getting hot. Pulled both brake spools look fine. I still have 305 going Into transmission control valve but 100psi Coming out. Much appreciate the help. Pulling hair at this point.

Welcome to HEF @BradleyGA ! It's not uncommon for them to blow a gasket in the transmission control valve. That's the first place to look. Most times it's the bottom one. You need to remove the valve from the machine to do the job. Do a good job of marking all the hoses before removal..... Often you can actually hear the oil bypassing, makes a high pitch buzzing sound around the valve area.

Thanks for info! Can you think of anything else could check since the valve will be off? Maybe not for current problem but for common issue down the road.

Nothing in particular you really need to do, but, I would strip, clean & reseal the entire valve. Anything else you find will be obvious. I use some non hardening aviation gasket glue (Permatex or Loctite) on those gasket surfaces. Be real careful cleaning the surfaces, particularly the main body around all those oil gallery faces. Be sure to refit any bolts removed for hose clamp brackets - these are drilled through into the the transmission housing.

Think you may have found issue when i removed. Can see tear on inner gasket. Looks like next gasket up from bottom. Thanks again.

That looks more like a crack in the valve body than a tare in the gasket.

Pretty good tear in gasket. All other components look good. Checked for cracks in body and none.
