Case 1840 Steering issue

Sakoman ยท 2015-03-19 20:10

My Case 1840 needs to have both of the hydraulic valves controlling the drive to wheels coordinated. Right know one is getting more flowthan the other causing it to stray slightly to one side when both levers are pushed to the stops. Is this a cable issue or more complex issues with the valving? Thanks, Allen

Welcome to HEF Sakoman! The stops for the control levers are adjustment screws. They are located on the panel behind your legs. You may be able to get a little more speed from the slower side or cut back the faster one.

If adjustment doesn't work check the control handles on top of the tandem pumps(page 06-07A,ref. number 22 in Case parts manual).I managed to crack one and my 1840 wouldn't track straight even after steering adjm't. It's a $15 part and easy to get at.
