have a 580c and the left cylinder that swings rear bucket left and right blew seal an poouring fluid. is this a difficult task to repair or cylinder need replacement?
We repacked swing cylinder on our 580. Loosen rear fitting on cylinder. remove set screw on end cap and remove cylinder end cap(for lack of the correct term)w/ large channel locks /pipe wrench. Ours was not tight unscrewed w/ little effert. pull rod out of cylinder and take to local hydralic shop. Probably a bout $100 or less job. Swing boom all the way to one side so you can get rod out before starting.
