So the history on this is, I rebuilt the engine recently, new liners, pistons, rings. Head was planed ~.01" New intake valves. All valve seats ground. I rebuilt the injection pump myself (with help from here) So I started it a couple weeks ago and it ran ok but it seems to rev up slower than I would expect from idle to full rpm when you give it throttle. I bled the heck out of all the injectors repeatedly. I even changed one of them for a different one when I found that #1 doesn't seem to lose as much power when I cracked the injector compared to the others. I have bought new injectors and a pop tester but I haven't been able to test the injectors yet as the pop tester didn't come with the right adapter... Are there numbers or some designation for the type of fittings to connect to the pencil injectors? Or do I have to use an old fuel line and modify it to connect to the pop tester? Idk what the actual pn is for the pencil injector adapter.. But what most of us do is exactly what you are talking about.. Get an old line and put 1 together. Good luck
How do you couple the lines? Braze or weld? My pop tester has a threaded fitting but the line has a banjo end. Was thinking of just cutting and splicing but want to be safe
Just go to a junk yard & get the lines u need. You’ll need a line to fit the injector & a line that will fit the pop tester, then braze them together.
You could drill a short piece of round stock to make a sleeve to couple them together when you braze them. Especially if the OD of the two lines are different.
Pretty much what I was thinking. Either find a sleeve or make one on the lathe. The threads on the pencil injector are 9/16-18. I think the fitting might be a jic but i am not sure on that yet until I can get one to compare against.
