Hello, has anyone removed the crank gear with crank still in block? One of the bolts came out of case and took out the oil pump gear and spun the crank gear thus breaking the pin. Is there a puller out there for pulling this off? Not a lot of room behind gear. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
You will more than likely have to pull the crank out, Even some of the flat puller arms will not get in there, we used a 17 1/2 ton puller with a bearing plate to pull the gear off when removed from the block, to install you need to heat the gear to 250 F for a min of 25 minutes to slide it on the crank.
Not the kind of answer that I was hoping for, but kind of figured that's where it was going to go. Just thought someone might have some magic trick for getting it off. Motor is on its way out. Thanks
