I Have A case 40xt and need to replace the wheel bearings. how do I get to the drive sprocket? it's the rear rh wheel and I can't find the inspection panel anywhere.
Tilt the cab and look at the inside of the chain box compartment inline with the axle and you will see a plastic plug about 4" in dia. Pry out the plug and there is the bolt that hold the sprocket tight to the axle shaft. Remove the bolt and the axle and housing can be removed. The bolt takes a 15/16 socket and can be a bear to get to on the rear sometimes.
Thanks Goose! I won't be able to work on it until this evening, but will let you know how it goes...
