Gauges will tell you as the oil filters get loaded or the oil cooler is not doing enough to keep the temp down, running too hot will cook the oil where it loses lubrication quality and could start internal damage. The units on my 74 Allis are functional. As to the fitting, replacement is the only option, any well rated hydraulic shop can get swivel fittings. Dipstick to what? and filter can for what? Most likely a strainer that can be cleaned and re-installed. As to the stick, is the tube it sits in bent? Is it in the correct fitting location?

That hydraulic swivel fitting is cracked. Turn it to disconnect the hose, then turn it out of the control and replace it. Not a big deal but sometimes you have to disconnect a hose two to get a wrench on it.

I was wondering if it was just that easy, Is that a case dealer part only?

Likely a common fitting any hyd. shop should have.

Maybe a micro switch that may have been added after the fact for a back up alarm? Looks like a home made add on.

Thats what i was thinking .When i get a chance i have to trace it out to see where it goes! my other thought was some kill switch .
