Case 450 Dozer hydraulic hose replacement

Hello, could someone please tell me how to replace the 4 hydraulic hoses that run through the frame on a case 450 dozer "early 70's" with 6 way blade? How are you supposed to feed the rubber hoses through the frame? Thanks for any help

The best way would be to use a short double male coupler and hook the hoses together and pull the new ones back in frame and out the other end. They should be a 37* flare so even if you used two plugs and welded them together to make a coupler it would work. hopefully it's not filled with crud that they will pull in and out. You can also tie a wire or a 1/4 inch rope to the end while pulling the old out, then tie off and pull the new in. I like the coupling the hoses, that way you know you won't loose the end.

Thanks Sheepfoot, I wasn't sure if I was missing something like a cover I could remove or inspection plate, coupling them seems like the best idea, thanks again

It may seem like a pain but it works. The big thing is how much crap is in the c frame, you can also weld a hook/washer to the plug if you need a come-along to pull on them.

Seems to be a common problem on the older case dozers. My 450 is a early 70s as well and the lines are ran on the outside instead of the inside. The inside lines must have rotted away...could be a reason on why they fail, too much crud and dirt trapped inside.
