On a case 550 g dozer you have the 3 pedals on the floor but where you set you feet on the floor are two (2) round pieces coming out of the floor that you can step on, they do some thing with the trans? what do they actually do?

step on one shifts it to low range the other one shifts it to high they are proabley stuck and will not shift.(remove floor board and oil linkage) it's really to fast in high range to do any blade work.i have an 850G with approx. 6,000hrs and have not shifted in years when I did shift it you had really stomp on them and some times cut engine off to get it back in gear

What's not so obvious is that in low range you actually have 1st and 3rd gear and in high range you have 2nd and fourth. A little strange until you get used to it. Greg
