case 580 590 series numbers

anyone out there know the meaning of the series numbers and how to tell on the machines what it is. Thanks God Bless

    You have to be a salesman, a mechanic, or someone that has run a lot of the same manufactures equipment over a long time. I would go to the casece.com north america site. Click on products, then prior models/resources. When you click on backhoes you will see most of the models case made along with the spec sheets. There has been so many upgrades to the backhoe industry. The question what the series means is a long long list of changes from the start. We have to look at serviceability, engine, drive line, hydraulics, steering, loader, backhoe, dig depth, lift capacities, operator environment to get the full understanding of series. It comes down to less cost per hour to run, production, more power and speed, operator ease of operation and control, operator environment, resale value. If you just take the 580/B/C/D/E/K/SK/SL spec sheets and them look to the most current its like wow!.
