Any one know which hoses to switch to make it have excavator controls? Thanks Keith
Super E had three levers and foot swing, Is that what you have? If so you might be able to find a kit to change it to two lever JD style controls but the control tower and linkages get changed, not the hoses. Does this make sense?
Mine isn't three lever foot swing it has the two wobble sticks
Excavator can be the same as what you already have or reversed . The super E did not come with switchable controls . I am think what you have now is John Deer controls . JD controls i believe were used mostly in the farm community
Cat controls on 580SE It is technically possible using 2 methods, 1. You could fabricate linkage components to change WHICH valve the controls connect to. 2. You could possibly switch hoses IF AND ONLY IF the following precautions are taken, MUST HAVE exact same control spool AND relief valve on whatever spools you switch hoses on, some are manufactured differently for "feathering" and "response speed" differences, therefore you must consider the hydraulic circuit differences or you could end up with something like very very slow but powerful swing speed, and very very fast but extremely weak bucket curl power etc. I spoke with the Case guy that has done pretty much everything ever known to man involving thousands of the CK/C/D/E/SE series backhoes and he has never heard of it ever being done. Cannot name him because He says the legal liability of someone getting on your altered backhoe and killing someone with the abnormal controls is too high to officially endorse the option. Better put some REALLY prominent decals on the altered controls clearly showing the change if you end up doing this!
If you want to do it right pull the valve body swap the two valves you need to move and move the associated hoses. That way your reliefs will still be setup correctly too.
If you have wobble sticks in a couple hours ou can make criss crossed rods to switch the RH and LH functions, just get a couple 3/8 metal rods and fabricate them, have done several.
