Hi, just a simple question. I plan to drain and fill my transmission. My manual lists SAE 90 above 32 degrees and SAE 80 below 32 degrees. My question is, do I need to follow this to the letter, or can I use 80-90 gear oil?
Yes, 80/90 is a good choice. I use synthetic nowadays. I bought a 5 gallon bucket of 75W-90 a few weeks ago $116.90 delivered to my house. It is stupid expensive in plastic jugs.
