Rear pivot hole is wobbled out and front pivot hole is broke in 1/2. Don't know if a used pan would be much better or where to obtain one for a reasonable price. Need to find new pin and two bushings as well as bore bushing holder that attaches to A frame to front axle. Anybody done this? Suggestions? Thanks Bart D. Hull Laveen, AZ
You can weld them but it's a lot of time and money both ways. A new pan is around $850.00 and a used front support is around $400.00. Their was around four different pans 188D/188G engine pans, one used a bolt and nut to retain the rear pin and other used a roll pin. This also goes for the 159G engine pan with both the bolt/nut or roll pin. The new pans use the bolt and nut to retain the pin. You can go to the casece parts lookup, put in your 580B and go to the steering section. This will give you the parts needed. You can then type in your numbers on a search bar xyz case part number and find dealers and parts bone yards that may have new or good take off parts. Some times it's better money spent with used parts, you will most likely have to pull the front support and pan to weld and machine them also. Some part numbers will sub to other numbers/ same part just newer numbers so you have to do some research. Only you can decide how much to sink in the machine of that age and the needs you use it for. We have several welders on here that could give you better welding advise as to rods and pre heating thoughts. Proper blocking and cribbing will be needed if you do a front support removal, always keep yourself safe. More if needed.
Is it a cast steel or cast iron pan? Just wondering how weldable it is. Bart
