Shifter is stuck in 4th gear. Tried to remove assembly but won’t lift up. Only moves up at rear about 3/8-1/2” and no more. Front doesn’t budge. With assembly loose and trying to move shift lever it know seem it’s loose from any shift gears. Not seeing a reason for this and getting it to neutral is not a option with what I have to work with. Anyone else had this problem.
Pull your shifter boot up and out of the way, you will see a lock ring at the top of the pivot ball on shifter. Remove the lock ring with whatever works and pull shifter out of cover. then you can take a pointed bar and move shift rail back so you can remove cover.
