Case 580c steering cylinder

Dgreen4298 · 2021-07-27 15:17

Where can I find the cylinder number for a case 580c steering cylinder. I ordered the parts listed in the manual and they are the wrong ones. It came with two leather rings and is missing the outer seal and steel ring that holds it in. I ordered two kits and they are both the same so I don’t think they are just missing, I must have the wrong kits. I looked around the cylinder tubes and don’t see any numbers.

The kits don't come with the white spacer ring for the gland OR the smaller outer snap ring - well at least the CNH A44644 (now E38203) genuine kits never did. If that's what you mean by "the outer seal".......

yes that is what i mean. do you know the position for the leather rings and where i can get the ring spacer for the outer ring, prob just a dirt ring. i have the outer snap ring but i pretty much destroyed the spacer ring getting it out

CNH A44644 is the kit i have and there is two green rod seals that go inside the glade but my cylinder has one gland seal and one regular oring inside the gland

The leather rings are used as back ups for the OD of the gland - usually one is only used - placed next to the oring, on the outer side of the cylinder. There is always a seal on the inside of the gland with a wiper on the outside - unless yours has been modified in some way over the years?? Can you post a picture of the gland id & what you pulled out of it? The white spacer CNH A44641 should be available from a Case dealer at $26 - ouch! Maybe you could get one turned up by someone with a lathe? OR rig something, using some PVC conduit?
